Privacy Policy for Interview Simulator
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Interview Simulator ("the app") is a free Android app made by Sussal Productions ("we", "us"). The app helps you practice job interview questions. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
Summary
- There is no account and no sign-up.
- Your profile, answers, edits and history are saved only on your phone.
- We do not run our own servers and we do not receive your data.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob uses your device's advertising ID.
- Voice input uses your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google). Your voice may be sent to Google to turn it into text. The app does not save your audio.
- The app works offline, except voice input and ads, which need internet.
Data saved on your phone
The app saves the following only in the app's private storage on your phone:
- The details you enter before your first session (full name, target role, education or current role, city, experience level, key skills and voice accent; the app also makes a short word list from these details to recognise your name and city) and any other profile details you type
- Questions and answers you add or edit
- Mock interview answers you type or speak, and your scores and history
- Favorites, Practice scores and settings (theme, shuffle, read aloud, voice accent), and the voice corrections the app learns in Mock interviews (a word the microphone got wrong that you then said right; you can delete them in Profile)
These details are stored only on your device. They are used on your phone to personalise questions and answers and to match voice input to your words. This data is not sent to us or to anyone else by the app. You can change or remove it at any time: edit your details or clear history inside the app, or use Android Settings > Apps > Interview Simulator > Storage > Clear data. Uninstalling the app also deletes it.
If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include this app data in your own device backup. This backup is controlled by Android and your Google account, not by us.
Microphone and voice input
- The app asks for microphone permission only when you tap the mic button. You can say no and still use the app by typing.
- When you use voice input, the app uses the speech recognition service that is installed on your phone. On most phones this is provided by Google.
- Your voice is processed by that service to turn it into text. The service may send your voice to Google's servers to do this. Google's handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- The app itself does not record, save or upload audio files. Only the recognized text comes back to the app and is shown in your answer box on your phone.
- To hear you more accurately, on Android 13 and newer the app gives the speech service a short list (at most 100) of words you are likely to say: your name and city, the words of your saved answer for the question, and the words the app learned from your corrections. Your audio is still processed by the speech service as described above; the app stores nothing on any server.
- Listening stops when you tap the mic again, leave the screen, or put the app in the background.
Read aloud
Read aloud uses your phone's own text-to-speech engine. The question or answer text is passed to that engine on your phone. Some engines can use the internet for certain voices; this is controlled by your phone's text-to-speech settings.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The app shows banner and interstitial ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- The device advertising ID
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device and app information (for example device model, Android version, app version)
- Ad interactions (for example ad views and taps) and diagnostic data
This data is collected by Google, not by us. Google uses it for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Learn more:

Your choices
- If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the app shows Google's consent form before personalized ads. You can change your choice any time from Profile > Privacy Policy > Ad privacy choices.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads).
Internet use
The app works offline for practice, mock interviews, history and profiles. Internet is used only for:
- Ads (Google AdMob)
- Voice input (your phone's speech recognition service)
- Opening the online version of this policy, if you tap that link
Sharing your transcript
If you tap the transcript button after a mock interview, Android's share menu opens. The transcript is only sent to the app or person you choose.
Children
The app is made for a general audience of job seekers and students. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and you want help removing data, contact us.
Security
Your app data stays in the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. Ads and voice services use Google's secure connections.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted at the link below and inside the app, with a new "Last updated" date.
